Aldford Iron Bridge

The Aldford Iron Bridge is a cast-iron road bridge built in 1824 to carry the Buerton Approach across the River Dee toward Eaton Hall, the country seat of the Duke of Westminster roughly six miles south of Chester. As one of the earlier examples of industrial iron bridge construction in England, it holds Grade I listed status — the country's highest heritage designation, reserved for structures of exceptional interest. The bridge sits within a quietly wooded riverside setting, offering a glimpse of the Eaton Hall estate's understated grandeur; the hall itself remains private.
