Alte Zollbrücke

Built in 1775, this modest stone bridge spans the Wupper river in the Heckinghausen district and is the oldest surviving bridge in the city of Wuppertal. It once served as a toll point on a historic trade route connecting what are now Lenneper Strasse and Rauental, near the mouth of the Murmelbach stream. Listed as a protected monument in North Rhine-Westphalia, the bridge carries little traffic today but stands as a quiet, largely overlooked remnant of early-modern infrastructure.
