Highest point in Macau on Coloane island, 172 m above sea level

At 172.5 metres, Alto de Coloane is the highest natural point in Macau, located on the island of Coloane in the southern part of the territory. The forested hill stands in stark contrast to the dense urban sprawl of the city centre and attracts hikers looking for calm. From the summit, there are wide views over the surrounding islands and the South China Sea. At the top stands a white statue of A-Ma, the patron goddess of sailors, after whom Macau is named.
