Modern science museum designed by I.M. Pei, featuring interactive exhibits and a planetarium on the Macau waterfront.
The Macao Science Center is a modern science museum on the Macau Peninsula, designed by renowned architect Ieoh Ming Pei of Pei Partnership Architects. The futuristic building with its distinctive conical tower was inaugurated on December 20, 2009, by Chinese President Hu Jintao — exactly on the 10th anniversary of Macau handover to China. Inside, visitors can explore multiple floors of interactive exhibits on topics including astronomy, ecology, and technology, alongside a planetarium. The museum is especially popular with families, offering hands-on experiments and discovery zones for children, all with panoramic views of the Pearl River Delta outside.
