Aspire Tower

The Aspire Tower is a 300-metre skyscraper rising from the Aspire Zone sports complex in ar-Rayyan, just west of central Doha. It was purpose-built for the 2006 Asian Games and deliberately shaped like a giant Olympic torch — flames were ignited from its crown during the opening ceremony. For years it held the title of Qatar's tallest building until the Lusail Plaza Towers surpassed it, but it remains the most recognizable single structure on Doha's skyline. Its glazed curtain-wall facade and nighttime illumination system make it a fixed landmark visible from across the city, and the upper levels offer panoramic views stretching over the desert cityscape toward the Persian Gulf on clear days.
