Avicii Arena

Also known as: Stockholm Globe Arena, Globen, Globenarena · +1

The Avicii Arena in Stockholm's Johanneshov district is one of Europe's most distinctive large venues — its spherical steel shell, completed in 1986, measures 110 metres in diameter and 85 metres in height, long cited as the world's largest spherical building. Originally called the Stockholm Globe Arena, it was renamed in 2021 in honour of Swedish DJ and producer Avicii, who died in 2018, cementing his legacy in his home city. The arena seats up to 16,000 and has hosted Ice Hockey World Championships, the Eurovision Song Contest, and headline concerts by major international acts. It anchors the broader Globen City development, which includes hotels and a shopping centre.
