Bärglistock

Bärglistock is a 3,655-metre gneiss summit in the Bernese Alps, sitting on the boundary of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site «Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch» and the Grimsel nature reserve. Its metamorphic rock layers function as a geological archive of the Alpine collision and uplift sequence, making the peak of genuine interest to researchers tracing the pressure-temperature history of the Central Alps. The ascent is a serious high-alpine undertaking requiring glacier travel, route-finding on firn, and solid mountaineering experience — no marked trail, no mountain hut in the immediate vicinity.
