Bächlistock

The Bächlistock (3,246 m) is a remote summit in the Grimsel area of the eastern Bernese Alps, well clear of the tourist infrastructure concentrated around Interlaken and Grindelwald. The ascent crosses partly glaciated terrain and demands basic mountaineering competence and glacier equipment — this is not a hiking peak but a genuine high-alpine objective for experienced alpinists. In winter, the broader Grimsel region becomes a ski-touring destination, with the turquoise Grimselsee reservoir serving as a striking landmark below. The summit panorama spans moraines, surrounding three-thousanders, and the reservoir with no cable cars, restaurants, or crowds in sight — a draw for those specifically seeking solitude at altitude.
