Catania Centrale railway station

Catania Centrale is the main railway station of Catania, situated on the southeastern edge of the city center. Opened in 1867 during the early unification of Italy, the station building reflects the historicist architectural idiom typical of 19th-century public infrastructure. It is operated today by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) and serves as the principal rail hub for connections to Messina, Syracuse, and Palermo, as well as the starting point for the narrow-gauge Circumetnea railway that circles Mount Etna.
