St. Wendel station is the sole railway stop in the Saarland district capital of St. Wendel, opened on 26 May 1860 as part of the Nahetalbahn extension running from Idar-Oberstein via Türkismühle to Neunkirchen (Saar). It also served as the starting point of the now-dismantled branch line to Tholey. Today it functions as a standard regional rail stop with no notable tourist or cultural significance beyond its mid-19th-century origins.
