Aussig Hauptbahnhof

The central railway station of Ústí nad Labem — historically known in German as Aussig an der Elbe Hauptbahnhof — opened in 1850 during the early expansion of the Bohemian rail network under the Habsburg Monarchy, when the city was a thriving industrial and trading hub on the Elbe. This makes it one of the oldest continuously operating stations in the Czech Republic. Today it handles around 1.5 million passengers annually, ranking it among the ten busiest in the country; the station is wheelchair-accessible and operated by Správa železnic, the Czech railway infrastructure authority.
