Chico station

The Southern Pacific Depot in Chico, northern California, is an 1892 railroad station built in the Carpenter Gothic style — a distinctly American vernacular that applies Gothic decorative motifs to wood-frame construction. Originally serving Southern Pacific passenger trains, the depot also became a stop on a local streetcar line between 1905 and 1947, briefly making it a small transit hub for the surrounding area. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places for Butte County since 1987, the building retains its original function: Amtrak's long-distance Coast Starlight still stops here, connecting Chico to Seattle in the north and Los Angeles to the south.
