Dieringhausen station

Dieringhausen station opened in 1887 as part of the railway expansion into the Bergisches Land region, transforming what had been an unremarkable village into a local rail hub. The locomotive depot — including engine shed, turntable, and associated trackwork — shaped the settlement's character for nearly a century and gave rise to a dedicated railway-workers' housing estate that still survives. From the 1980s onward, reduced rail operations gradually diminished the station's role, leaving the remaining infrastructure as a quiet monument to the Wilhelmine era of German railway building.
