Echterdingen station

Also known as: Echterdingen

Echterdingen station sits on the Stuttgart-Rohr–Filderstadt line, opened in 1897 during the German Empire's railway expansion. Under railway operating regulations it is technically a Haltepunkt rather than a full Bahnhof — a distinction that matters to infrastructure planners but not to the daily commuters who use it. The late-19th-century station building reflects the sober regional style of the Württemberg State Railways, built during the Gründerzeit era of rapid industrialisation.
