Fürstenwalde (Spree) railway station

Fürstenwalde (Spree) railway station opened on 23 October 1842 as a stop on the Berlin–Frankfurt (Oder) line, making it one of the oldest surviving station buildings in Germany. Like many early rail stations, it was built roughly a kilometer north of the town center — landowners frequently pushed rail lines away from existing settlements. The original brick station building still stands, a rare physical remnant of Germany's earliest railway era, predating the revolutions of 1848. Today it serves regional rail passengers commuting along the Berlin–Frankfurt (Oder) corridor.
