Aldgate

Aldgate is a London Underground station in the City of London, best known as the eastern terminus of the Metropolitan Line — the world's oldest underground railway, which first ran in 1863. Today it serves as a straightforward interchange between the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines, handling over seven million journeys a year with minimal amenity: no step-free access, no retail to speak of, and no architectural flourish beyond its functional Victorian-era lineage.
