Hankou station is one of three main railway hubs in the sprawling metropolis of Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province. It serves the Hankou section of the city — the district that in the 19th century earned the nickname "China's Chicago" and hosted multiple foreign treaty concession areas along the Yangtze. Today the station feeds into Wuhan Metro Line 2 and dispatches trains across the national high-speed and conventional rail network.
