Geestenseth station
Listed Building
Ibbenbüren-Laggenbeck station is a protected heritage structure on the Löhne–Rheine railway line in the Laggenbeck district of Ibbenbüren. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries it served as a key freight hub for the Ibbenbüren coalfield, one of Germany's oldest hard-coal mining regions. When the freight tracks were dismantled in the 1990s, the station was reduced to a simple passenger halt, though its building survives as a listed monument. It offers a quiet footnote to the industrial railway history that once shaped this corner of Westphalia.
