Pinneberg station

Pinneberg station contains the oldest surviving station building of its kind in Schleswig-Holstein, constructed in 1848 during the early expansion of the North German rail network. The listed brick structure sits on the heavily used Hamburg-Altona–Kiel line and serves as the northern terminus of Hamburg's S3 suburban rail service. Around 19,000 passengers pass through daily, making it one of the busiest stations in the state. The deteriorating building is slated for restoration as part of a broader redevelopment of the station forecourt, preserving one of the town's few remaining 19th-century landmarks.
