Shanghai Hongqiao station opened in 2010 and in 2011 was the largest railway station in Asia by floor area. It sits directly west of Terminal 2 of Hongqiao Airport, making the combined complex Shanghai's primary intermodal hub for air and high-speed rail. Around 210,000 passengers used the station daily as of 2013; from here high-speed trains run to Beijing, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and destinations across China.
