Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is the oldest still-operating airport in China — the site dates back to 1907, when the first aircraft landed here. Today it lies in the western districts of Changning and Minhang, just about 13 kilometers from the city center, making it far more conveniently located than the modern Pudong Airport.
