Štrba railway station

Štrba station sits in northern Slovakia at around 900 metres above sea level, making it the highest station in the country at which express trains make a scheduled stop — an operational oddity within the Slovak rail network. The junction has a following among railway photographers: heavy freight traffic on the main line set against the panorama of the High Tatras creates one of Central Europe's most visually striking station backdrops. The station also serves as the interchange point for the rack railway climbing to Štrbské Pleso, connecting the main line to the Tatra highland resorts.
