Saints Peter and Paul Basilica, Strzegom
The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul is one of Silesia's most significant medieval granite Gothic churches, rising above the centre of Strzegom — formerly the German town of Striegau — roughly 60 kilometres southwest of Wrocław. Built in the brick-Gothic tradition characteristic of the region, the church holds the title of Basilica minor, a papal designation that grants it special liturgical standing within the Diocese of Świdnica. Its sturdy granite masonry and pointed Gothic arcades have defined the Strzegom skyline for centuries. Listed as a Polish cultural monument, the basilica is one of the few well-preserved medieval churches in Lower Silesia to have survived the region's turbulent history largely intact.
