Basilique Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire

The Rosary Basilica in Lourdes was completed in 1901 in the neo-Byzantine style and can accommodate up to 1,500 worshippers, making it the third-oldest sacred building within the pilgrimage complex. It stands just east of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and together they anchor the architectural core of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. Dedicated specifically to the praying of the rosary, the basilica hosts daily processions and prayer services drawing pilgrims from across the world. Its domed silhouette and mosaic-rich interior set it apart visually from the neo-Gothic structures nearby. The building is fully wheelchair-accessible, a meaningful detail in a site whose pilgrimage tradition since the 1858 Marian apparitions has always centred on the sick and the faithful seeking healing.
