Defunct Hamburg museum commemorating the Beatles' early years on the Reeperbahn club circuit.
Beatlemania Hamburg was a museum in Hamburg devoted to The Beatles, focusing on the band's formative years in the city. Between 1960 and 1962, the young Beatles played gruelling club nights on the Reeperbahn and Große Freiheit before breaking through to international fame. The museum has since closed, but the Beatles' connection to Hamburg lives on through the Beatlesplatz memorial at Große Freiheit — a round square with the silhouettes of the Fab Four — and through walking tours retracing the club-era sites.
