Beatrixpark

The Beatrixpark sits in the Prinses Irenebuurt quarter of Amsterdam-Zuid and is named for former Queen Beatrix. Part of the park was used in 1972, together with the adjacent Amstelpark, as one of the venues for the Floriade horticultural exhibition. Today it functions as a neighbourhood park with pond, playground, sports lawns and a small herb garden; deliberately wild corners attract birds and butterflies. Set right beside the Zuidas business district, the park fills at lunch with workers from the RAI and ABN AMRO offices. Free entry, open year-round.
