Brebeneskul

Brebeneskul stands at 2,038 metres in the Ukrainian Carpathians, making it the country's second-highest peak after Hoverla. It sits within the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve near Rakhiv, one of the few largely pristine alpine zones in Eastern Europe. The treeline gives way to sub-alpine meadows and mountain streams in the approaches below the bare summit ridge. The ascent typically follows trails from Kosmach or along the Chornohora ridge, requiring solid hiking experience. On clear days the summit opens up a wide panorama across the entire Chornohora range and into the forested valleys straddling the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
