Christ Church

Also known as: Anglikanische Kirche, Christ Church

Christ Church Vienna on Jauresgasse in the 3rd district, Landstrasse, is the city's Anglican embassy church, consecrated in 1887 on land belonging to the British embassy. It was built to designs by Viktor Rumpelmayer in neo-Gothic style, with a distinctive slender ridge turret, a typical example of late Victorian sacred architecture transplanted into Catholic Vienna. The building remains the centre of Austria's Anglican community, with English-language services and an active concert series focused on choral and organ music. Listed as a protected monument, it is open to visitors outside service times.
