Former Elbe branch and river island near Hamburg, now lost beneath port development.

Dradenau was a former branch of the River Elbe and a river island near Hamburg. The name today refers to an area within the Hamburg port district. The original side channel was filled in during the expansion of the harbour and vanished from the landscape — an example of how the Hanseatic city actively reshaped its river over the centuries.
