The Flugplatzmuseum Cottbus occupies the southern grounds of Cottbus's former airfield and has been run by a nonprofit association since its founding in 1994. The airfield served both military and civil aviation during the GDR era, and the museum preserves aircraft, equipment, and documents from that period. Visitors can examine historic machines up close, offering a tangible look at East German aviation history that goes well beyond conventional display cases.
