The Galopprennbahn Hamburg-Horn, commonly known as Horner Rennbahn, is Germany's oldest horse racing track, opened in 1855 in the Horn district of Hamburg. With a capacity of up to 50,000 spectators, it is home to the Deutsches Derby (German Derby), held here annually since 1869 — the most prestigious flat race in German thoroughbred racing. Races run over distances ranging from 1,000 to 3,600 metres. The local U-Bahn station and street are both named after the racetrack, reflecting its deep roots in the neighborhood's identity. Today the venue hosts race meetings throughout the season and also serves as a large open-air event space.
