Saint Petersburg's flagship football stadium on Krestovsky Island — over 68,000 seats, home to Zenit, and a 2018 FIFA World Cup venue.

Gazprom Arena is Saint Petersburg's largest football stadium, seating more than 68,000 spectators. It was built on Krestovsky Island on the site of the legendary Kirov Stadium, which was demolished in 2006. After years of construction the new arena opened in 2017 and serves as home to FC Zenit Saint Petersburg, one of the most successful clubs in Russian football. The distinctive folded steel roof structure makes it one of the most architecturally striking stadiums in Europe. In 2018 it hosted several group-stage matches and a semi-final of the FIFA World Cup.
