Northern Germany's largest folk festival – held three times a year at Heiligengeistfeld in Hamburg, attracting up to 10 million visitors annually.
The Hamburger DOM is the largest folk festival in northern Germany and one of the oldest in the country. Three times a year, the Heiligengeistfeld in St. Pauli transforms into a vast fairground with rides, stalls, beer tents, and street food. With up to ten million visitors per year, it draws more people than any other festival in northern Germany. The name traces back to the former St. Mary's Cathedral, around which the fair originally took place. Today it attracts families, tourists, and locals alike with carousels, roller coasters, and roasted almonds.
