Kabaty Woods

The Kabaty Forest (Las Kabacki) in Warsaw's southernmost Ursynow district is an oak-lime-hornbeam woodland of around 900 hectares, designated a nature reserve in 1980. It is a remnant of the old Mazovian primeval forest and shelters some 600 plant species along with roe deer, wild boar and the middle spotted woodpecker. In summer it is Warsaw's favourite breathing space, with marked hiking, jogging and cycling trails and a horse-riding centre. The forest is easy to reach by Metro Line M1 to Kabaty station, right on its northern edge.
