Powsin Culture Park

Powsin Culture Park is a spacious wooded recreation and sports park in the southern Warsaw district of Ursynow, set on the Vistula escarpment beside the Kabaty Nature Reserve and the Polish Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden. The grounds were laid out in the 1960s as a socialist-era recreation project for the booming prefab housing estates on the city edge. Today visitors find cross-country trails and cycle paths through open mixed forest, beach volleyball and tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool with waterslides and barbecue areas. In winter the groomed cross-country ski tracks are especially popular with locals; in summer the park is a weekend destination for families from the surrounding neighbourhoods.
