Kawasaki Todoroki Stadium
Tokyo
Also known as: Beijing Fengtai Sports Centre Stadium
Fengtai Stadium is a football and athletics venue inside the Fengtai Sports Center in southwestern Beijing. Built for the 1990 Asian Games, Beijing's first major international sporting event, it hosted the men's football tournament that year. After a fallow period the stadium was modernised from 2006 to 2008 to serve as a temporary home for Beijing Guoan while the Workers' Stadium was being rebuilt. Today it functions mainly as a training ground and an occasional venue for cup and youth matches, with Guoan back at the rebuilt Workers' Stadium for league fixtures. For visitors curious about Chinese stadium culture beyond the headline arenas, Fengtai offers a quieter atmosphere set against the low-rise suburban architecture of the district.
