Museum of Modern Art

Also known as: Museum für Moderne Kunst in Warschau, MSN Warsaw, Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw

Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie, Poland's Museum of Modern Art, opened its long-awaited main building on Ulica Marszalkowska in October 2024, directly opposite the Palace of Culture. The white, blocky design by US architect Thomas Phifer offers a deliberate counterpoint to Stalinist tower symbolism. The collection focuses on Polish post-1945 art - Magdalena Abakanowicz's sisal figures, films by Wojciech Bruszewski and Zofia Kulik - alongside international positions from Alina Szapocznikow to Wolfgang Tillmans. Founded back in 2005, the museum operated for years from a temporary pavilion on the Vistula. In summer the roof terrace hosts concerts and film screenings.
