Poster Museum at Wilanów

The Poster Museum in Wilanow is the world's oldest dedicated poster museum, founded in 1968 as a branch of the National Museum in Warsaw. It occupies the converted royal riding school on the grounds of Wilanow Palace, the Baroque summer residence of King John III Sobieski. The core of the collection of more than 70,000 posters is the Polish School of Posters, which from the 1950s rose to international acclaim with artists such as Henryk Tomaszewski, Jan Lenica, Roman Cieslewicz, Jan Mlodozeniec and Waldemar Swierzy. The museum also holds film, theatre and political posters from around the world. Changing exhibitions accompany the International Poster Biennale Warsaw held every two years. A special destination for design lovers.
