Princess Diana Memorial

The Princess Diana Memorial is a privately funded site of remembrance in Austria, laid out in 2013 in honour of Diana, Princess of Wales. It grew out of a fan-and-collector initiative and consists of a stone block with a Diana plaque, rose beds and tablets bearing quotations from her speeches. The site is one of the few official Diana memorials outside the United Kingdom. Anniversaries - her July birthday and the August 31 date of her death - draw small groups bringing flowers and candles; otherwise the spot is quiet and only signposted locally.
