Schwebendes Paar

The "Schwebendes Paar" (Floating Couple) is a bronze sculpture created in 1978 by Potsdam artists Karl and Bruno Raetsch, and one of the city's most recognizable pieces of public art. The work depicts two figures embracing in apparent weightlessness — a lyrical subject that stood out against the more programmatic aesthetics typical of GDR-era public sculpture.
