architecture
Monaco's architectural landscape is defined by a remarkable concentration of religious and historic buildings within a compact territory. The Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate anchors the old town, while the Cathédrale de la Nativité-de-Notre-Dame and the Russian Orthodox Cathédrale de Saint-Nicolas reflect the diverse cultural influences that have shaped the principality. The Château Grimaldi stands as a testament to the ruling family's long presence. Churches including the Église du Gèsu, Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur, and Église Saint-Pons add further depth, and the Asian Arts Museum rounds out the picture with architecture drawing on traditions beyond Europe.

The Château de la Garoupe is a private estate on the Cap d''Antibes peninsula on the Côte d''Azur, near the well-known Plage de la Garoupe beach. The château sits in one of the most exclusive stretches of the French Riviera coastline, surrounded by pine forests. As private property it is not accessible to visitors, but the surrounding coastal paths offer walks with views over the Mediterranean and a sense of the luxurious villa architecture that defines Cap d''Antibes.

The Prince's Palace is the official residence of the Sovereign Prince of Monaco and carries over 800 years of history. Originally built in 1191 as a Genoese fortress, it has been the stronghold of the Grimaldi family since the late 13th century – who seized it in 1297 through a famous ruse. Since then it has been besieged and bombarded many times, yet never permanently lost. The daily changing of the palace guard is a popular spectacle watched by thousands of visitors. Part of the state apartments open to visitors in summer.
