Place Ville Marie

Place Ville-Marie is a 188-metre cruciform skyscraper at the intersection of Boulevard René-Lévesque and Rue University in downtown Montreal, designed by I.M. Pei & Associates. When it opened in 1962 it was the tallest building in Canada, and its distinctive cross-shaped floor plan remains one of the most recognizable silhouettes on the city's skyline. The tower embodies the International Style and was a catalyst for the transformation of postwar Montreal into a modern North American business hub. The complex connects directly to Montreal's underground RÉSO pedestrian network, making it a practical anchor for the city center. A rooftop terrace offers panoramic views over downtown and Mont Royal.
