2С5 «Гиацинт-С»
Sergiyev Posad
The 2S7 Pion is a Soviet heavy self-propelled gun with a 203 mm caliber and a combat weight exceeding 46 tonnes, making it the largest artillery piece of its kind still in active service worldwide. Developed in the late 1960s, it was first observed by Western intelligence in 1975 and catalogued under the NATO designations SO-203 and M1975. The example displayed in Sergiyev Posad is an outdoor static exhibit, offering a striking sense of scale for one of the Cold War era's most powerful artillery systems.
