Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque

Also known as: Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, Sultan Selahaddin Abdülaziz Camii

The Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque in Shah Alam, roughly 25 kilometers west of Kuala Lumpur, is the largest mosque in Malaysia and can accommodate up to 24,000 worshippers. Completed in 1988 and named after the then-Sultan of Selangor, it is immediately recognizable by its blue-and-silver steel dome, one of the largest in the world, which defines the Shah Alam skyline. The four minarets each rise 142 meters, reinforcing the complex's status as a national religious landmark. Non-Muslim visitors may enter outside prayer times provided appropriate dress is worn.
