Aix-la-vie

Aix-la-vie is a market garden on the edge of Würselen near Aachen, run by Sandra and Paul (Melcher & Tellmann GbR), where visitors pay a fee to harvest seasonal vegetables directly from the beds themselves. The concept is refreshingly hands-on: the team does the sowing and tending, guests do the picking — carrots, radishes, lettuce and more depending on the season. Freshly pulled produce can be tasted right on the spot, collapsing the distance between soil and plate. For families, it offers a rare chance to experience where food actually comes from. Sandra and Paul accompany visitors with practical information on seasonal growing and regional food, making each visit as much a learning experience as a harvest.
