Bariura Old Bridge

The Bariura Old Bridge, locally called Hatirpul, is a surviving structure from the Mughal period located near the present-day Dhaka–Sylhet highway in Brahmanbaria district, Bangladesh, roughly 15 km north of Brahmanbaria town. It was constructed during the Mughal Empire's administration of Bengal, likely between the 16th and 18th centuries, as part of a broader network of roads and crossings that facilitated trade and governance across the subcontinent. Today it stands largely bypassed by modern traffic, making it a quiet remnant of Mughal-era civil engineering in rural Bangladesh. Documentation on its precise construction date, materials, and current state of preservation remains sparse in international sources.
