Al Yaqoub Tower
High-RiseGlass FacadeSkyscraper+1
The Arteveldetoren stands at 118.5 metres, making it the tallest building in both Ghent and the wider Flemish Region. Inaugurated on 20 April 2012, it serves as the regional headquarters of Belgian banking group KBC. Its name references Jacob van Artevelde, the 14th-century Ghent statesman who steered the city into a powerful trade alliance during the Hundred Years' War. As a slender glass tower, it forms a conspicuous counterpoint to Ghent's medieval skyline of belfries and church spires.
