Azekah

Azekah is an ancient city of the tribe of Judah, situated in the Shephelah — the rolling lowland region between the Judaean Hills and the Mediterranean coastal plain. The Hebrew Bible mentions Azekah in several key passages, including the account of David and Goliath in the Elah Valley and as one of the last fortified cities to hold out during Nebuchadnezzar II's campaign against Judah in the 6th century BCE. The site survives today primarily as an archaeological tell, with finds spanning the Bronze and Iron Ages of ancient Canaan.
