Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe railway station
Postwar Modernism
Limburg Süd station sits at kilometre 110.5 of the Cologne–Rhine/Main high-speed line and opened in 2002 when the new route was inaugurated. It holds a unique distinction in Germany: it is the only station in the country served exclusively by ICE high-speed trains — no regional or suburban services stop here at all. Architecturally modest and functionally straightforward, its interest lies entirely in this operational quirk. For rail enthusiasts it is a minor curiosity; for commuters in the Lahn-Dill district it provides a rapid connection to Cologne and Frankfurt.
