Meiringen railway station

Meiringen railway station opened in 1888 and serves the Brünig line and Zentralbahn network in the Bernese Oberland. The station building is listed as Swiss cultural heritage of regional significance, a well-preserved example of late 19th-century Swiss railway architecture. The station acts as the main gateway for hikers heading to the Aare Gorge and the Reichenbach Falls, the waterfall made famous by Arthur Conan Doyle as the site of Sherlock Holmes's final confrontation with Moriarty.
